So I went to the burial ceremony of a friend of mine who passed on in his village. I went with three of my friends with whom I knew the deceased with, together. It is the custom and tradition of their village, when a deceased is about to be buried, his friends will put something in his or her casket. Tamara my friend, had nothing to give at the moment so he assisted the women in cooking and serving foods and drinks to the guests. hat was all he did. Oghenero my other friend, put some expensive wine worth 11,500 Naira into the coffin and said; My bro, keep shining your eyes till we meet again, bye bye! Clement, my friend, the over generous one, counted a reasonable amount of money, 15,000 Naira precisely, and put it in the coffin and said; My guy, I could have given you more than this, but due to the economic crises in Nigeria, this is the only thing I can afford now, use it to take good care of yourself till we meet again someday. The last person, me, wrote a cheque of 40,000 Naira and put it in the coffin and collected Clement's 15,000 Naira and said; My dear friend, you know that the journey is too far, so I am giving you the cheque of 40,000 Naira, if you get to the land of the dead, please withdraw the whole amount. My own 25,000 Naira plus Clement's 15,000 Naira is 40,000 Naira. I have collected my change, so all the money is yours. Take good care of yourself and try and be holy till we meet again, bye, bye!
