Ofego held the 5 Naira on his hands on the street and stared at it remininscing; Only 5 Naira remaining out of all the money I worked in one job. Miserable 5 Naira. What will I do with it now? It is better it's stolen jor. Suddenly a thief appeared from nowhere and snatched the money from Ofego, running out of sight. Ofego screamed; Thief! Thief o! A crowd gathered and asked him; How much did he thief? Ofego replied; 5 Naira. Are you not ashamed of yourself? Is that why you are jumping as if it is one million? You are indeed running out of madness. They hissed and left him. Ofego regained himself from the shock and walked away. He strayed into a compound and saw a chicken romancing the neighbourhood. Ofego spied if there's someone around. There was no one. He said to himself; This is my dinner. And took advantage of the chicken. He was taking it away while it cocked when a little girl came outside, saw him and cried; Mummy thief! They are stealing our fowl. Thief mummy! The mother came out and shouted; My husband thief o! The husband came out and screamed; My neighbours thief o! The neighbours came out and caught Ofego. I am not stealing it, I want to adopt it as my first child. Ofego explained. They dealt with Ofego. Even children were dishing out blows. A banker who was driving by, saw this, stopped his car, and ran to the scene, taking off his suit and shirt, he gave Ofego a hot slap on his left eye. I will confess! I will confess o! Ofego cried. They stopped beating him and said; Confess! Who send you? Ofego pointed at the banker; It's this man that sent me. The crowd transferred the beating to the banker. They started dealing with him mercilessly. Ofego took pity on him and said; It's not him that sent me o, it's me that sent myself. They stopped beating the banker. He was now in pain. Ofego turned to him and said; Next time, mind your business. Did i come to your house to steal your thing? Nonsense! And the crowd started beating Ofego again. They beat him and he passed out and they ran helter skelter. Ofego woke up late in the evening and saw that it was about getting dark. He walked away and wandered into a cemetry to spend the night. As he passed by graveyards, he said; This place will be good for me for tonight. Let me spend the night here. It's not everytime a person stays with the world. Let me be out of the world today. Those people that wants me dead, let me see how they will see me to eliminate me when I'm with the dead, the people that are dead. They will not see me to kill because as i'm here now, to the world now, I'm dead, cause I'm in the land of the dead now. But I'm alive o. Due to where I am now, to the people of the world, I'm no more, cause I'm not with them now. Yes. This is good. Let me look for somewhere to sleep till morning. That place will be good. Ofego pointed out to himself, walking towards a nearby grave. He dusted it and relaxed on top of it to catch some sleep. He closed his eyes and said; Oya, sleep come and take your place in my body till tomorrow morning. Wait o, he spranged up, Is on top of someone's grave I'm sleeping on. I might use like this to die and join the person o. My mind, thank you for reminding me. God will bless you. Let me get up and sleep at the corner. My enemies would have succeeded in deleting me, but, God said, unable to delete file, file still in use. Ofego then laid at the corner of the grave to get connected to sleep. But sleep was not connecting. As he was trying he started hearing a strange noise. What noise is that? He asked, where is it coming from? I'm afraid. Let me not urinate on my body because of this. Ofego whispered. The noise got louder. No, this can't be happening. Let me relocate before this noise gets me. Ofego got up. Is only once a man dies. Let me leave before this noise meets me here. Who told me to come and spend the night in a cemetry? Is me that told myself. Escape from Congo mode activated. Ofego ran into the bush. As he was running he ran into an old man holding a chisel and an hammer in front of a grave. Papa what are you doing here at this time of the night? Ofego asked, surprised. The man replied; The people that buried me did not spell my name correctly, I'm trying to correct it. Ofego took to his heels. Next, Episode Fourteen.
