What Old Age And Pronunciation Almost Made My Grandpa Commit

Sometime ago when I was still running a phone booth across the road, I had forgotten one of my plastic chairs at home, and sent a boy named Lateef to go get them for me from my Grandpa's place. I live with my Grandpa then, though he is late now. Lateef went and my Grandpa made him sit down and told him his usual stories, about how he killed ten people with just a bullet in the Nigerian civil war before giving Lateef the chair. He normally does this before attending to someone's need. Lateef stood up with the chair and left the house. After seeing him off Grandpa came back to the house to see Lateef's phone on the table, he had forgotten it. Grandpa picked it up and came outside. Grandpa who had only two teeth in his decayed gum started shouting; NA TEEF! NA TEEF! People thought he was calling Lateef a thief. They chased Lateef and almost lynched him if not for the timely intervention of some policemen on patrol.
