I went to American Embassy for a student visa, and the process of my interview with the white woman went this way;
Me: Good afternoon ma!
White Woman: Welcome! How are you?
Me: I am fine thank you ma!
White Woman: What are you going to the USA for?
Me: To study ma!
White Woman: Which city, school and course do you wish to study?
Me: New Haven, Yale University, Business Administration And Management.
White Woman: But there are many Universities here in Nigeria that offer this course and you still want to travel as far as the USA to study the same course why? I doubt your genuine intention and therefore can’t give you the entry visa that you have applied for.
Me: (With anger shouted) Please give me back my passport let me get out of this place, what do you think that is in the USA that is not in Nigeria, what do you think that I will see in the USA that we don’t have here in Nigeria, do you think that the USA is in any way better than this country and if you think the USA is better than Nigeria, why have you then chosen to live in Nigeria instead of your country USA?
White Woman: (With serious anger and love for her dear country stood up and said to me); Look I'm gonna give you an entry visa to the USA so that you gonna travel down there and see what is in the USA that is not in Nigeria. You will see the difference between the USA and Nigeria, I bet you.
She stamped the visa for me out of annoyance. I left smiling.
