Beware of Abuja girls, the saying goes, but I was blind to it that day, and I learnt my lesson. I went to Abuja for a show. I was looking for a good hotel to lodge in and someone suggested Transcorp Hilton Hotel, not knowing that it was there I will meet my doom. I directed the taxi driver to drive straight there. As I was about checking in, I noticed a beautiful woman staring admiringly at me. She was a few steps away from the front desk. I walked up to her and spoke with her for a few minutes and then returned to the front desk where we checked in as Mr and Mrs. After a pleasurable two days stay, I approached the front desk and told the receptionist I am checking out. In a few minutes, I was handed a bill of 550,000 Naira. There must be some mistake here, I said. I have been here for only two days. Yes sir, the receptionist replied. But your wife has been here for two months and a half.
